Memory:
Significant-Negative - Running away with Ran Fan, she cuts her arm off.
What he learns:
- They managed to escape from King Bradley with the help of a few more grenades (and a hell of a reckless jump)
- However, they were getting cornered. He'll get right away their chances of survival were slim.
- Ran Fan is pretty damn loyal to him.
- ... so loyal that she ends up cutting her own arm to save him by giving a false trail for the enemy.
- The pages don't show it, but this memory will also contain the actual arm cutting, Ling using his shirt to cut the bloodflow on Ran Fan's shoulder, etc. Basically the whole plan set up (which means tying Ran Fan's arm on the dog, too) and then leaving her in the sewers.
Considerations:
While this obviously ups the respect and feelings he already was feeling for Ran Fan, this memory is TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE on so many levels. First taste of what people he leads can end up doing for him and of sacrifices made in his name, first time he sees someone he cares for getting injured so badly (for him), etc. It will have a pretty strong impact on him. This will up his willingness to be reckless in situations that can call for it, and also his not wanting to leave people behind no matter what.
